The new 30th Celebration expansion launches worldwide on September 16, 2026. Every card foil, a new Futuristic rarity, 30 different Pikachu, and reprints of classics like Base Set Charizard.
The Pokémon Company has officially confirmed what sealed collectors have been waiting for all year - Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration launches on September 16, 2026, and it will be the first expansion ever with a simultaneous worldwide release. No localization lag, no JP-only window - trainers in Tokyo, Prague and New York crack packs on the same day.
Why it matters for investors
Anniversary sets have historically delivered above-average EV and long-term hold value (Celebrations 2021, 151, Prismatic Evolutions). 30th Celebration stacks several bullish factors:
- Every card in the pack is foil - including Basic Energy. Historically thinner print runs and higher singles prices.
- Global simultaneous release - worldwide demand on day one, heavier pressure on first prints.
- New Futuristic rare - debuts with Mewtwo and Mew by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN.
- 30 different Pikachu, one guaranteed per pack, illustrated by stars like Atsuko Nishida, Yuu Nishida and OKACHEKE.

What to expect in the lineup
Official SKUs are not yet public, but based on prior anniversary sets (Celebrations, 151) expect booster bundle, ETB, Elite Trainer Box Plus, Premium Collection and likely an Ultra Premium Collection with exclusive promos. Umbreon and Sylveon have built a massive fanbase across Surging Sparks and Prismatic Evolutions - their illustration/ex versions in 30th Celebration will very likely be the headline chase.
Collector recommendation
- Preorder ETB or Booster Bundle as soon as Cardmarket / Pokémoncenter listings appear (typically 4-6 weeks before release).
- Avoid UPCs on launch day - these SKUs tend to be overprinted in the first weeks and dip for 2-4 months before settling.
- Booster boxes are the most stable long-term anniversary play (Celebrations BB +180% in 3 years).
